From Numbers to Fuzzy Values – the Direct Jump

چکیده

The paper presents a fuzzification method with a very simplified procedure, which requires only logical operations and avoids any arithmetic computations. It is based on the existing of information redundancy in the fuzzified form of a crisp variable. It is proved that under defined assumptions only part of the bits in the digital code of the crisp measurement are sufficient for extracting the membership degree and the labels of the fired fuzzy sets in the same time. Choosing the number of bits in this part we can introduce different granularity in partitioning the universe of discourse. The fewer bits in the binary code of the fuzzified variable can be used without a significant influence on the quality for example of a fuzzy controller based on the proposed approach.
